The New Growth of Spring!
Spring is finally here after what seemed like a never-ending winter, and I couldn’t be more excited! There is some about the fresh renewal of spring time. It’s the perfect time to shake up your routine and create some change in your life. Weather it’s a new health routine, new creative projects, or simply de-cluttering your home, it’s the perfect time to create a fresh new start in any area of your life!
I’m a big believer in setting goals for yourself. It’s a great way to keep you focused on what’s important to you in life. Of course, setting a goal must be followed up by consistent action to make it happen. Without action, a goal or dream is simply just a wish.
I also think goals are important because it is a great way to push yourself to change and grow. While change is often hard, it is SO rewarding in the end! I look back on some of the difficult things I have pushed myself through in life, and it feels amazing to see how much I have learned and grown from those, often uncomfortable, experiences!
I really noticed this last week when I hit my favourite yoga studio for a class. It had been in way too long since I’ve practiced yoga. Almost daily I think about how much I want to have a regular yoga practice and be able to do all those amazing poses you see all over Instagram. I beat myself up all the time about how I should just start practicing, and stop using excises like not having enough time. But the truth is, I have been busying myself with so many other things in my life, and honestly, at some point you do have to pick and choose what you spend your time on. Especially if you have a family and young kids.
I certainly haven’t been neglecting my yoga practice while sitting on the couch watching TV. I have been busy learning and growing myself in so many other ways, all while trying to be present and enjoying my kids while they are young.
In the midst of personal growth, it’s easy to not give yourself credit for how much progress you’ve made, at least that’s the case for me. It sometimes feels like the more I learn, the less I know because there is just so much I don’t know! I so much that I want to learn about that fascinates me!
In the midst of my first yoga practice in almost two years, I realized how much I have changed since I was last at the yoga studio. And it really was amazing realization. I immediately forgave myself for all the guilt and mental turmoil I have put myself through. Maybe I needed that break to work on other things in my life, and that stepping back let me step ahead in other areas in my life.
So forgive yourself if you have goals that you haven’t yet accomplished!! It’s not doing you any good to dwell on them and make yourself feel guilty about them.
In saying that, now is the perfect time to breath new life into your goals and make action plans! Or maybe you need to shift your focus to some new goals that more in alignment with who you want to be and where you want to go in life. With all the fresh new energy of spring growth behind you, go set some meaningful goals that make you excited to achieve! I’ve started a list of all the new goals I want to set for myself, goals that make me feel excited and alive!
Many of them are scary. And to be honest, most of them I don’t know where I am going to start, or even how to start. So I am going to do what I can, and start with what I can and what I know, and have faith that I will learn all that I need to learn along the way.
I really can’t put into words how that yoga class made me feel. All I know is that it came at the perfect time, and brought a new freshness and outlook on life for me. I’m excited to take action and start designing my life in ways that excite me and bring me joy! Because that’s what life is all about 🙂
The sun is shining, the birds are signing, plants are springing to life, and it’s time to set new life goals! You are responsible for you life, and you have the power to shape it in any way you wish!
Wishing radiant health and a vibrant life!
