The importance of keeping your body hydrated cannot be emphasized enough.  Water is crucial to life on earth, and most people are chronically dehydrated on a daily basis.

Not drinking enough water is the main culprit, along with drinking dehydrating drinks such as coffee.  Drinking coffee actually increases the amount of water you need to drink in a day.

I am always shocked by the amount of people I work with who drink as little a one cup a day and can still function!

While  your body has adapted to chronic dehydration, it is definitely something that will have long term affects on your health and vitality.

If you are looking to increase the amount of water you drink on a daily basis, but find plan water to boring, or not enticing enough to drink, try out one of the fun flavored water recipes below!

  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 4 cups of water

This recipe is perfect for a hot summer day!  The lemon will actually help hydrate you better than plain water, and give it a delicious, refreshing taste you will love!

  • 6 mint leaves
  • 3 cucumber slices
  • 4 cups of water

This mint and cucumber water the perfect way to hydrate your body this summer.  Mint and cucumber are cooling foods to the body and will help combat the excess heat of the summer sun!  Let flavored water sit for a few house before consuming.

  • 4 strawberries, sliced
  • 3 basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp. maple syrup or honey
  • 4 cups of water

Classic summer flavors of fresh strawberries and the herbal taste of fresh basil, this flavored water is a summertime delight!
