Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Everyone needs a go-to Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.  This is the best chocolate chip cookies recipe that I turn to again, and again.  They are my family’s absolute favorite cookies, and they never last long in my house.  I’m talking a day or two at the most.  It’s mostly my husband to blame for that.  But I can’t really blame him.

I rarely eat these cookies when I make them, because if I start, I can’t stop.  One cookie turns into 3.  And then they start to look like a great breakfast option too…basically they just have to be eaten until they are gone.

Although I’m not a big fan of sweets, I think it’s important to make special treats for your kids once in a while.  I mean, it’s not like they aren’t going to be getting treats from other places anyways.  If my kids are going to have a treat, I feel SO much better about it if it is homemade and not filled with unknown ingredients.

Plus, baking with your kids is such a special way to bond with them.  And getting them in the kitchen as much as possible is only going to benefit them as they get older, and hopefully, instill a love of cooking and baking in the future.

These chocolate chip cookies are perfectly soft and chewy in the middle and oh so delicious!  You may have a hard time stopping at just one 😉

1.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2.  In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar.

3.  Add egg and vanilla and mix to combine.

4.  Add flour and baking soda and mix until well combined.

5.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Scoop dough onto baking sheet.

6.  Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.  I like to pull them out when the edges just start to turn golden brown.  Let cool before removing from pan.
